Until next year….
As the last casts of the season wrap up across Alberta, we want to take a moment to reflect on just how far StreamSight has come — and to thank every single one of you who’s been part of the journey.
This year marked our first full season in the wild, and it’s been nothing short of incredible. From camera deployments to field rescues, every challenge and milestone has helped shape what StreamSight is becoming.
By the Numbers
- 🎥 14 cameras deployed across Alberta rivers
- 🔧 1 camera vandalized and 1 camera confiscated (the hazards of fieldwork!)
- 🚙 5,599.6 km traveled setting up, maintaining, and rescuing gear
- 🏆 $500 in giveaways to our amazing members and early supporters
- 🛻 1 rescue mission for a stuck truck at Blackstone — and yes, we got it out
- 🌤 Countless hours of footage capturing Alberta’s rivers through every season
Each camera placement taught us something new about weather resilience, connectivity, and community interest — lessons we’ll use to make next season even better.
Heading Into Hibernation
With October 31 marking the end of open angling on most Alberta streams, StreamSight is officially entering hibernation. Most cameras will be powered down for the winter to protect equipment from extreme temperatures, though a few may remain active for off-season testing.
To keep things fair and transparent, we’ll be pausing all active subscriptions for the winter months.
You won’t be charged again until cameras return online in the spring.
If you’d like to continue supporting StreamSight’s development through the off-season, you’re welcome to keep your membership active — it directly fuels upgrades, expansion, and the launch of new features for next season.
Looking Ahead
Phase 2 is already in the works, with plans to expand coverage to more river systems, refine network capabilities, and improve user experience across the StreamSight platform. Our goal remains simple: to connect anglers and outdoor enthusiasts with real-time river conditions and a deeper appreciation for Alberta’s waterways.
Stay tuned through the winter for updates, sneak peeks, and development news as we prepare for a bigger and better 2026 season.
Thank You
From the first camera install to the last frame captured, you’ve made this journey possible.
Your support, feedback, and enthusiasm have turned an idea into something real — and this is just the beginning.
Until spring thaw…
Tight lines, and thank you for being part of the StreamSight community.
