• West Central Alberta is alive! Clearwater River is wide open for most of its length. It does ice over upstream of of HWY 597 and as far as you can see downstream as well. Fished around the Forestry Trunk Road on the opener and was impressed with the clarity. Still quite a bit of ice left on the banks so use caution while wading around. The fish were active, mainly reacting to slowly presented streamers.
  • Prairie Creek has some open sections around Terratima Lodge with great clarity as well.
  • Raven River is still frozen over in its lower section but open around HWY 22.
  • Stauffer Creek has some opening around HWY 761 and is frozen farther down.
  • The Upper RDR around Garrington was frozen but things got better the further down you went. It was wide open at RR40 and looked good! Clarity is great and should be fishing well!
